Richelle Nassos Letter

November 10, 2006

Dear CCUSD Board Members and Superintendent Ashby,

It is with great concern that I write this letter, asking that you revisit your decision to put our children… the adults of tomorrow…at serious risk.  I have read countless letters and very touching stories and pleads from the heart asking that you give a second thought to how Sonoran Trails Middle School has been set up with all the power lines and I am hoping that they are starting to pull at your heart strings.

I am a friend and family member to many cancer survivors and I am uncertain as to why the district would even for one moment take any small chance with a child’s life.  I don’t have an amazing story like the ones I have read.  I am just a mom with two beautiful boys that the Lord has blessed me with and I would do anything for their health and their safety.  I would hope that as a district that embraces the very thought of watching our community flourish through the education of your schools, that you would want to watch those very same children grow in health.

With these power lines…that will never be achieved.  The risk is too great.  Any risk…is great…when we speak of our children.  As a very active community member, I speak for many…and it is with great resound that I too plead that you revisit your decision with regard to the power lines.

So much in life we have no control of, it is with the destiny in which the Lord presents us that we fall into our path that He has chosen.  This is a decision you do have control of…I hope you make a good one.  If it were your child…would you take the risk?

Kindly,

Richelle Nassos
