Students First....Safety Always

To whom it may concern,

Just wanted to let the board know that there are many parents quite concerned about the current and future levels of EMF due to proximity of the the power lines to STSM.

Most the people who have chosen to send their children to schools in the Cave Creek Unified School District

Many people still believe that this is so. Because of that belief most people have not gotten involved and in turn have trusted you the board, to make decisions that keep the safety of our children first.

Parents, staff, etcetera who have been paying attention for the past 10 months or so, were basically told that the lines would be moved or buried. That did not happen, is not happening now, and if left up to the board will probably never happen.

As you all well know and probably count on, everyone is busy. School board meetings are not always at top of the list, partially because we trust that the CCUSD93 board will make the right decisions whatever they may be.

I for one no longer have that trust and am very disappointed at the board’s decisions and the way things have been handled so far. The CCUSD93 board meetings that I have attended have left me with the feeling that public opinion on most matters is at best tolerated when in disagreement with the powers that be.

The last meeting that I attended was not a CCUSD93 board meeting, but a meeting that Mr. Dennis Roehler was kind enough to host at the old Black Mountain. It was, I believe honest, informative, and very stressful for Mr. Roehler. I would like to express my thanks for his solitary, sincere and successful attempt at communication.

Sincerely,
Cherie Day

have done so because we believed that the district, as a whole has the best interests of our children's safety and education at the forefront.
